Two-Handed Tapping is emerging all around the world as a radical, yet simple, new way to produce music on an electric guitar or bass guitar. The emergence of new, specialty, tapping instruments designed to make the technique more powerful has added fuel to guitarists’ interest in two-handed tapping.
THE BASIC TECHNIQUE
The basics of the technique are simple — Take an amplified electric guitar or bass, pull the neck upright so you can get both hands on the fretboard, and tap the strings to the frets. With amplification, this is all you need to sound a note. And with a specialty instrument with a larger number of strings, you can in effect play guitar and bass at the same time, tapping with both hands on the strings.
